Kurashiki, Okayama, Japan｜Marutani

We were visiting from Australia. We had a great night with excellent food and unbelievable camaraderie. We will be back the next time we are in Kurashiki. Highly recommend

A shop I wanted to go to for a while but couldn't go 🫣 Today, I was lucky enough to have a seat available when I called, so I visited with my friend who recommended it🩵 Everyone seemed to be regulars and there was a friendly atmosphere. Everything I ate was delicious, but the sea urchin watercress was especially delicious🤤💯 I was lucky to be able to eat watercress as it wasn't going to be available for a while! The refreshing drink I had at the end (Campari) was especially delicious. I was told that you can drink it hot too, so I hope I can go again in the winter.

Visited with my wife. A compact store with only 8 seats at the counter. The knife is sharpened on a polished iron plate, and the owner is friendly. It has a delicious atmosphere. No draft beer, only bottled beer. Akahoshi Lager is the best. The skin pop is made from the skin of the parent bird, and the beer goes well. The beef sashimi is cut into cubes, so it has a lot more texture and flavor, so it might be better than slices. Is grilled lotus root with cheese crunchy and charred cheese? is interesting. I was surprised at how the flavor changed when I sprinkled lemon on grilled seafood. Lastly, extra thick asparagus. A simple salty flavor with the sweetness and aroma of asparagus. After two bottles of beer, a glass of red wine. It's really delicious. Next time I'll have grilled beef. Thank you for the treat.
