Taito City, Tokyo, Japan｜鉄板焼 TENJIN（天神）

Run by a lovely couple who were very friendly to this middle aged Australian couple with limited Japanese. Food was fantastic, we had okonomiyaki pancakes done in the teppanyaki style, good sized portions and very well priced. We were early (around 6 pm) and we were the only people there, but another few people turned up around 1845.

Had dinner for a family a 4 persons without prior booking at Tenjin and we were so happy! We received the warmest welcome upon entering, and despite communication challenges we were understood perfectly when ordering. The menu has pictures and there is free wifi so you can use a translating app (we used Google translate). The prices are incredibly fair for the food, most of them prepared on the teppanyaki in the back of the dining room. I ordered an Okonomiyaki “Hiroshima style” (with noodles) and it was really good! Really recommend dinner at Tenjin if you are staying in Ueno area.
