Otsu, Shiga, Japan｜Tamaya

On my first day in Otsu I stumbled across this gem. The owner is very accommodating using Google translate between the two of us to try and have a conversation 😆 Service is very fast and friendly, it's a small place so you'll get your food right away. Might be a bit too much salt for some. The place is smoking friendly. I wish I could have a deeper conversation with the owner.

There are not many seats inside, but the business is very good, there is no smoking ban, the food is delicious, and the boss is friendly and enthusiastic.

Not only are the skewers always served hot and crispy, but the delicious meat dishes and creative dishes are all exquisite. There's also a happy hour with drinks, so it's recommended for single people.
