This is an old-fashioned, family-run pub that is rare in this area. I visited for the first time as a fly-in, and the store was very busy with all but the two seats at the counter full! It's very lively and lively. The proprietress and staff are cheerful and pleasant, and welcome you with warm customer service even in their busy schedule. I felt at ease because they listened carefully to my orders. Also, the fact that smoking is prohibited inside the restaurant is a very nice touch. All of the dishes are handmade, reasonably priced, and very satisfying. I imagine it's in the same price range as a chain store, but with 1.5 times the volume. The handmade fish cakes I ordered today were the best. It's piping hot, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and tastes great with ginger soy sauce or mayonnaise. The outside of the soft-boiled ham cutlet is crispy, and the marriage of the soft-boiled egg and ham on the inside is the best. According to the proprietress, reservations are required on weekends, but you can also call to check availability on the day of the restaurant. This is an izakaya that we can recommend with confidence!
