More Comments at Google MapCantonese restaurant, located near Sapporo subway "Maruyama-Koen" station (approx. five min walking distance). I called in advance and took popular "black fried rice" & "mabo tofu rice bowl". I liked blank fried rice with small blocks of in-house-chashu pork and chinese soy sauce. This restaurant has been featured on TV and magazines. Staff is nice and kind. Cantonese restaurant "Kangdong Kitchen" located a few minutes walk from Sapporo's subway "Maruyama Koen Station" apricot". It's on the 2nd floor of the building. I ordered the black fried rice and mapo bowl in advance by phone and took them out. It's reasonably priced, and the portions are large and filling. Black fried rice is a flavorful fried rice made with homemade Cantonese char siu and Chinese tamari soy sauce. It is also listed in "Sapporo no Machi Chuka" published by Pia. The store clerk is also kind.
I had black fried rice, 5 types of dim sum, and Chinese castella. The black fried rice had a gentle taste, and although it was a generous portion, I enjoyed it till the end. The 5 types of dim sum are packed with flavor and can be enjoyed without any sauce. The Chinese castella cake was not too sweet and was perfect to have at the end of a meal. There are box seats and counter seats, so it's a calm restaurant where you can feel at ease even if you're alone.
I ate the mapo tofu from the lunch menu. Although I entered the store just before lunch, I was greeted with a friendly smile. It was very delicious. Looks like I'll be a repeat customer. It seems that they are open from 5:30 pm at night, so I think I'll go there for a drink next time. =^_^=
