Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan｜Udon Syouri

They sell udon, hand made so it’s quite thick and chewy. I bought kake udon for 550 (or 600?) and buy it using the vending machine. Then you can choose your own topping such as ebi, chikuwa, toriten, etc (with additional pay if course). They don’t really have many seats but the place is very well air-conditioned. The owner/waiter also speaks English!

This udon was unbelievable. Very thick and chewy. I had the kakiage udon that had vegetables and my husband had the ebi tempura hot udon. Both dishes were delicious and at a fantastic price. They also had an English version of the menu but the ticket machine is in Japanese. This was easy to figure out if you don’t read Japanese.

Highly recommand the "spicy meat" udons. Only if you can handle spice! The food was delicious and quite cheap. Family style feel of restaurant. Waiter even spoke a little english. Recommanded.
