I visited "Nakamuraya" in Tenjin Shopping Street, about a 3-minute walk from Ueda Station, for lunch to eat horse meat udon. On this day, I was planning to go to Ueda Castle Ruins for lunch and Ueda Castle before my appointment with Ueda friends, and I was aiming for this horse meat udon from the day before. I arrived around 14:00 and ordered a set (1250 yen) with horse meat udon and mini tempura bowl, and a summer limited cold udon (950 yen). There was plenty of horse meat in the horse meat udon. The soup seems to be made with horse stock, and I thought it would taste like this. It was a horse meat udon unique to Shinshu, and it had a unique taste. The mini tempura bowl was just the right amount of rice with shrimp and squid. #Nakamuraya #Ueda Gourmet #Ueda lunch #Ueda dinner #Ueda udon #Ueda station front #Around Ueda station #Horse meat udon #Horse meat udon Nakamuraya #Horse meat udon and mini tempura set #Ueda city
Since I'm in Nagano Prefecture, I was actually planning on going to eat soba, but a local recommended this place so I came here. The specialty was horse meat udon, but I ordered the nabeyaki udon and meat plate (what Yoshinoya calls a beef plate) recommended by a local, and had the meat plate on top of the nabeyaki udon. The udon was soft and the soup was sweet, so I'm sure everyone has their own preferences, but it was very delicious. Before the udon, I also had horse sashimi. The ginger soy sauce was refreshing and very delicious. The store was clean, and although it may be a weekday daytime, most of the customers were elderly. When I entered the restaurant just before 12:00, more than half of the seats were still occupied, but by 12:00, it was almost full, and it seemed like the restaurant was rotating.
