Yokosuka, Kanagawa, Japan｜Yakitori Hisago

Possibly one of the best and most famous Yakitori places in this area. The yakitori is consistently so good, and always cooked to perfection. The beer is ice cold and the side dishes they offer are really good too. It’s a great mix of local Japanese and gaijin customers as well, and the service is always very friendly. We’ve been customers here for many years and it’s always the #1 place that I recommend to anyone visiting Yokosuka who wants to eat at a great local place.

Very outgoing staff. Full English menu if needed. Great yakitori. The large beer (大) is a good value and worth grabbing (see my pictures). DISCLAIMER: We only had the chicken and green onion but it was really, really good (We came an hour before closing so we had to rush). My wife is Japanese and I’ve been here for 10 years and we both agreed that this was darn good. Wish I could have tried more. Hopefully, we can come again soon.
