Yokosuka, Kanagawa, Japan｜Yakitori Stand Sagami

My first yakitori experience at Japan gave me a good start in this food adventure here. The food is tasty and even reminds me of the grilled skewered street foods in the Philippines. Nice place with a straight-forward mechanic - you eat to your heart’s content and pay by how much sticks you have in your hand. I’m surprised how affordable the food price is when you consider how good the food quality is. Will definitely come back!

Eating meat on a stick in an alleyway is suspect at best. But when you're in Yokosuka and the price is right, you eat Yakitori in an alleyway! The aroma is very attracting. I tried the chicken tail, not my thing because of the texture. The chicken stick, which was white meat and dark meat, was excellent - Flavorful and juicy. I had 4 pieces. Cost me only 400 Yen. They also offer chicken balls, chicken skin, pig organs, pork and pig tongue. I highly recommend.

Walk in and grab whichever meat stick looks appetizing to you. The chicken tail was my favorite! You’ll grab a stick at a time, eat it while standing there, then grab your next one. Once you’re done, head around the corner with your sticks to pay at the cashier. Quick and easy snack!
