Ichinomiya, Aichi, Japan｜Aoi

I used to come here when I lived in Ichinomiya. Aoi San is the best. He's a really good, honest, humble person who also happens to cook amazing food. Yes, he speaks English and loves to listen to the BBC, but for me he also provided a sense of community and an anchor. These photos are from 2014 when I last saw him, but even in early 2022, I think about how fun it would be to say hello again.

Best yakitori you can buy in Ichinomiya. The owner speaks both Japanese and English so there's no need to worry about ordering. The food is prepared before you and is great.
