Kyoto, Japan｜Yakitori Daikichi - Emmachi

i ate at this restaurant three times recently. I was staying nearby and read the good reviews. They were right! I tried a variety of yakitori and they were all quite delicious. I think this was the first time I tried yakitori and it certainly was a good choice to go to this restaurant.

Tonight was our first time having yakitori and we absolutely loved it. As self-professed foodies, I can't believe we had never tried this before. The shop is small and cozy, with an open kitchen where you get to see the skewers cooking. While the focus is on the chicken (which was delicious), the grilled vegetables also added a lot. For a starter, we also tried the chicken soup and quite liked it. More than that, the staff was friendly and and really made us feel welcome. The woman who took care of us not only spoke English, but provided an English menu, which always makes it a bit easier as a foreign tourist. We will definitely be visiting again before we leave Kyoto.

Absolutely outstanding food, me and the missus ate a lot and had two drinks each and it was a little over 5000yen, which is a bit pricey but considering we had probably 15 plates it was definitely worth it, we were well fed and watered and everything was really well seasoned, would recommend and would definitely go back, it's worth getting to being only a 5 minute walk from JR Emmachi train station. Very welcoming family and they have English menu, if you go try anything from the specials board and the meatballs are really good. All in all it was an amazing evening.
