I found a famous yakitori restaurant in front of Toyohashi Station. The meat quality of the chicken, as well as the way it was cooked, are all very good. Nowadays, large-sized yakitori is preferred, but it makes me think that this size may be the essence of yakitori. Both the owner and the landlady are dignified yet considerate of the customers, making the restaurant feel comfortable. Anyone can easily enter, from families to solo travelers. Seats are counter and tatami mats. There are no table seats, so please be aware of that. We highly recommend you to visit us when you come to Toyohashi.

I had picked up several yakitori restaurants in Toyohashi, but the owners of the two restaurants I visited so far recommended this one. I was intrigued by the restaurant's owner's recommendation, so I decided to visit it. The appetizer is boiled together with pork cutlets, and you can enjoy sake with just these. The much-rumored pickled rice bran pickles are unique in that they are arranged a little closer to each other, just as rumored. The proprietress seems to have pickled the vegetables in a rice bran bed that she has been using for 49 years, and the delicious rice bran pickles concentrate the flavor of the vegetables. I tried a variety of recommended skewers, and they were all carefully grilled to perfection. It's basically a sauce, but although it looks thick, it's surprisingly light and not too sweet. Hatsuya Shamo Chicken Seseri is especially delicious. The boneless fried chicken was recommended by the beautiful woman next to me, and the bone was removed after the order was placed. The outside is crispy and the inside is plump and juicy, so you can eat as much as you want. The fried tofu is fried right in front of you, and the soup stock is especially delicious. The cute general and the reliable proprietress had excellent customer service. It's a little far from the station, but perhaps that's why it's so famous.
