Nozawaonsen, Nagano, Japan｜Libushi

Amazing micro brewery and standing bar in the middle of the village. Great vibes and interior. A selection of dozen or so craft beer brewed on site. Libushi is an award winning brewery. A must go in Nozawa.

I visited here during a week of snowboarding in Nozawa Onsen and enjoyed both of the beers I tried. It was a lovely little accidental find during a stroll one evening, the wooden exterior façade making it easy to remember. Small on the inside, yet cosy, especially during winter—two benches outside if you want extra space/fresh air. It is small, local places like this which I love to visit and I would happily return on another visit to the area. Highly recommend for a drink or two before dinner.

Tap room for local brewer who kept it simple; no food, about 10 bar seats and a decent variety of beer styles over 10 to 12 taps I think. Very central and the staff was friendly
