Kyoto, Japan｜Hakusuien

We had dinner here on a Thursday while traveling in Japan. It was really fantastic! I spoke only a little Japanese but this plus the server's english was enough to get us by. They also had menu's in english. The restaurant is very small and intimate. If you're only in Kyoto for a short stay I would recommend it! We had two meal orders. It was fish head in broth, plus miso soup (with fish fillet) rice, tea, vegetables, and a few fermented plates. They had a lot on the menu.

A nice restaurant near Ginkakuji Temple. I used it for lunch. The Kozuki bento 3,400 yen (excluding tax) that I ordered was like a treasure chest, carefully and beautifully arranged with seasonal Japanese ingredients, which can be said to be the best part of Kyoto cuisine. Grilled shrimp, raw wheat gluten, chestnuts, and more are also lined up so you can enjoy the flavors of Kyoto. The sashimi served in a small pot-like container is surprisingly plentiful and delicious. The soup stock is so delicious that it soaks in. The satisfaction is more than worth the price. The building is built like a Kyomachiya and has a great atmosphere. Paintings and calligraphy are also valuable items, which makes me feel luxurious. All the staff were very kind and we had a wonderful time. This is a store I would definitely like to visit again.

I think this was 2200 yen? I ate it (^^) It was delicious and filling. Everyone was kind and gave me a 400 yen parking fee when I checked out! Thank you very much (^^)
