The food is excellent and the service is wonderful. If you are a single traveler or a couple and want Kyo-kaiseki, but don't have a huge budget, splurge on a lunch course (about 12000 yen each without drinks). I would definitely go back if I return to Kyoto. The atmosphere is great as well because you get a good view of the river and the rooms, while not soundproof, do drown out a lot of the noise of city traffic. What a nice, peaceful lunch I had!

The food was really good and the service was superb. only if they have a bit of traditional Japanese bgm, then it would be your perfect experience for the kaiseki cuisine.
