Nagatoro, Saitama, Japan｜秩父そばうどん みやま

We had originally planned to have lunch in the Chichibu area, but considering the time it would take to walk around Nagatoro and return by train, we assumed that most of the restaurants would be closed for lunch by the time we got back to Chichibu, so we hurriedly had lunch in Nagatoro. Around 2pm, the line had finally subsided, so I went to a soba restaurant that caught my eye. Famous walnut soba. The refreshing taste of the soba soup, the crunchy texture of the walnuts, and the creaminess from the oiliness of the walnuts combine to make this soba noodles delicious. I didn't order it, but there was a lot of tempura! The one with tempura is very filling. There was also Saitama flour udon, and the gravy udon that the person next to me was eating looked really delicious. Is gravy udon famous throughout Saitama? Next time I want to try the gravy udon too!

Most of the nearby restaurants were only open until 3pm, but I was grateful that I was able to eat there even after 3pm. Tempura is crispy. The wasabi was freshly grated and not too dry. It's so fresh and delicious that you can eat it as is. The slightly bitter taste of the walnuts brings out the sweetness and the soup is delicious. It was the best.

I visited by car. I was worried about the parking lot because it was in front of the station, but there was a very large parking lot in front of the shop and it was easy to park. After eating, I was told that the parking fee would be fine, which was very helpful. I was planning to go to Iwadatami after the meal, but I was able to use the parking lot and go sightseeing without worrying about time. The soba noodles were also very delicious. Udon takes 15 minutes to boil. Some people asked "udon" before deciding what kind of udon. Kind. One disappointment was that I was allowed to use the restroom, but when I opened the entrance, there was a men's restroom in front of me. When I opened the door after using the private room, there might have been a man... I thought it was a little disgusting.
