Iga, Mie, Japan｜うどん処 九菴

Amazing noodle place! There is a small English menu. However, the proprietor came and spoke to us in English and recommended the tomato broth udon. We ordered one tomato udon and one dipping udon. It was DELICIOUS. When the man came back and asked us how it was and we complemented the dish, he also brought us a free sample of a sesame broth udon to try. It was also amazing. The food was also delivered very quickly and the drinks and condiments (including pepper, black sesame, and tempura crumbs) were self-service, all you want.

Small place but very cozy. There are a variety of differents udon to try. If you are not sure which one to choose, you can choose the "awase" which you can have 2 flavors at the same time. I had "akashiro awase"(tomato based and soy based) they were delicious! Definitely want to try other flavors next time!

Fantastic Udon with a great staff! Definitely a place to go to when in Mie! Highly recommended the vegetarian Mountain Udon!
