So fantastic, I re-ordered. Katsu was exceptionally light and crispy.

Great katsu from the eyes of a foreigner! We loved how the meat was light, crisp with just that little bit of juiciness to it. It was also the first time we have seen an "extra large" katsu size which suited my partner very well. English menus were a plus as well - definitely recommended if you are in Okayama!

I wanted to eat tonkatsu at lunch time on weekdays, so I considered “Tonkatsu Shinjuku Saboten” on the 2nd floor of Okayama Station Sun Station and this “Wako”, and this time I chose Wako. The set price is the impression that Wako is a little lower than Saboten. The price range for lunch is 950 yen "Wako Gohan" to 1380 yen "W Wako Gohan", and you can choose from 6 types of set meals. We chose Wako rice, and our companion chose “Karin” for 1050 yen. Of course, the tonkatsu, as well as the bite-sized fins and cheese-filled mince, were freshly fried and crispy and very delicious. The miso soup in the set was clam soup with red soup stock and it was also delicious. Free refills of cabbage, miso soup, and rice. One disappointment was that there was only one yuzu-based cabbage dressing. If you don't like yuzu, you can also eat cabbage with tonkatsu sauce. Still, the food is delicious and the price is reasonable, so it is 5 stars.
