This is a private Japanese restaurant located along the Otsuki Line. My parents have been taking me there since I was in kindergarten, so it's been almost 30 years. At that time, there were very few hamburger or gyudon chains, so private restaurants were the norm for eating and drinking👀 Nowadays, with the rise of ramen shops and 100 yen sushi, there are many cheap and delicious chain restaurants such as Yayoiken, Matsuya, and Matsunoya, which offer the advantage of bulk purchasing of ingredients while retaining the taste of individual restaurants. In today's deflationary economy, individual restaurants are cost-effective because the company's efforts to cut labor costs by reducing the unit price of ingredients and reducing the labor costs of cooking staff by producing and preparing ingredients at factories have kept the unit price of set meals considerably low. People tend to shy away from me, so since my college days I've been under mind control thinking that independent stores are expensive, so I only go to cheap chain stores👀 Because of that, I was unable to go to Jinbei, and since I am over 30 years old, I thought quality is more important than quantity, so when I stopped by for the first time in a while, I looked at the menu, and when I saw the set menu that I used to eat with my parents, it was over 1500 yen and expensive. ! too high! ! Even though it's been a long time since I've been here, I felt it was too expensive, so I ordered a regular katsudon for 880 yen (including tax) (not a large serving)💡 When I actually tried eating it, the batter absorbed the soup stock well and wasn't crispy, but the pork cutlet was moist and soaked in flavor, and the moment I bit into it with my teeth, the meat melted and sizzled away...I guess I don't even need teeth anymore. It was softer than I expected. Yes, it tasted like this. I was so addicted to this taste that I was a little happy as I remembered the time when I used to beg my parents to go to Jinbei on weekends. Chain restaurants are cheap and delicious! However, restaurants that have been open for decades as restaurants still exist because of their authentic taste and technique, and I was reminded that Jinbei is a restaurant that has continued to win despite the passage of time. I got it 🙏 Still, set meals are expensive and difficult to get into, so try the katsudon here first. If it's 880 yen (tax included) with a large size for free, it's cost-effective and easy to get into, so I recommend it 😊
I had the fillet cutlet and croquette set meal. The katsumo croquettes are also carefully fried in a thin batter. It's not oily at all, and it doesn't feel like eating fried food. The crispy surface, softness of the fins inside, and gentle taste are probably due to years of skill. Furthermore, the large croquettes have a nostalgic taste that can only be enjoyed with home-cooked meals. It has a good flavor, so the rice goes well without adding sauce. The miso soup had a warm taste that made your stomach tingle, and the small side dishes were delicious.
