Toshima City, Tokyo, Japan｜Sushi no Uotsune

This is a great spot to chill and eat sushi. The fatty salmon, eel, shellfishes, crab brain (kani-miso) and flamed fluke fin (aburi-engawa) are my favorites. There's also daily specials like minced toro tuna or monkfish liver with ponzu jelly.

Amazing - my wife and I arrived in Sugamo after flying in to Haneda. We were tired/jetlagged , our baggage was lost and thanks to delays, we'd lost half a day of our trip. But we saw this sushi bar after getting off the train and heading to our hotel. After checking in at our hotel, we popped out to Sushi no Uotsune and it was amazing - the Sushi was fresh, incredibly tasty and cheap. We actually returned the following evening. The staff were patient with us (bear in mind we had minimal 'tourist Japanese') and were a little jet lagged. It's well placed for the train station. I'm relieved to see it here on google maps as I couldn't find the pin for it on maps for ages, and I was hoping it wasn't a casualty of Covid. Thanks guys, for the great food and giving us that wonderful 'welcome to Japan' feeling.

Cozy and pleasant. It's the place I visit regularly during tours, so it gets an extra bonus for nostalgia. It can get full really fast since it's not a big place, so plan accordingly.
