Nagano, Japan｜長兵衛

We dined at this local restaurant and didn't have enough cash. So we asked the owner to serve whatever fits in the budget. It turned out to be a pretty good experience. The chicken with green onion is very tender.

Great Yakitori place for when you're happen to be in Nagano! Shiro and Raeba (Tare) are pariticularly delicious. What made this place really great is the Owner, he's super friendly and will welcome you with his all. Note that this is a super local place, all the menus are in Japanese and there are no foreigner when we went there. The owner is kind so he'll help you with the menu ( or you can say 'omakase de onegaishimasu') Very solid place

We had a great night here, sitting right in front of the grill (okay, all the seats are at the bar, but we were right in front of the head guy). No English, but we were able to use Google to help us call out different cuts that he was able to say he had, or didn't have. We had so many parts of the chicken, and they were all fantastic, well, maybe not quite the gizzard, but let's say it was the best (and only) gizzard that I had tried. We had sake with our meal and having only previously had it with sushi, I was surprised how well it went with Yakitori, as I always considered beer to go best with it. Great food, really good service and just a few minutes walk from our hotel.
