More Comments at Google MapMeats were juicy and the tofu soup is great, little English but just enough to order the meal, that was fun.
I had eaten here several times with friends, but I suddenly felt like eating yakitori so I popped in by myself on my way home from work. It was crowded on a Friday, but luckily the counter was empty. I ordered draft beer and an assortment of skewers. The person sitting next to me was on a business trip from outside the prefecture, and I had a great time talking with him, enjoying delicious drinks and food. I don't usually go out drinking alone, but the owner was friendly and the atmosphere was nice, so I'd like to go there again.
This is a famous yakitori restaurant located along Umeria Street at the east exit of Nagano Station. The store is long and narrow, with a counter and three or four table seats. The east exit area is surprisingly lonely, so even though it's a famous store, it doesn't get crowded, so I highly recommend this store. The yakitori itself is larger than at a normal restaurant, and each piece is hearty. Basically, two pieces are baked in one set. They also had a rare white liver that you don't often find at other stores, and I was blown away by how delicious it was! (There is also a regular lever) The meatballs look just like hamburgers, and I think this is probably the restaurant that serves the biggest meatballs in Nagano City. (I've never even seen meatballs that big anywhere else.) The beef tendon is also surprisingly large in volume. The menu varies depending on the day of the week, so I think it's better to go on weekends because the menu is more varied. (When I went on Monday, there was no beef tendon.) If you are having trouble finding the first one near Nagano Station, I would recommend this one rather than going to the chain store at Zenkoji Exit. It's been a long time since I've visited since I heard they're also serving lunch recently. The minced meat cutlet curry was a good deal at 850 yen. It was crowded with office workers at lunchtime, but they were very accommodating to the three Cs.
