Oh we loves the Katsu restaurant, reasonable price, tender pork chops, waitress offered English menu to us, great service, has option to order extra piece of Katsu for a few hundred yen, very fair, unlimited cabbage, soup & rice, located on 3rd floor of Sunshine City Mall.

Surprisingly good stop for Tonkatsu. East of Ikebukuro in Sunshine City. 10-15 minutes from waiting in line to being served. Summer Himawari set and added chawanmushi and chicken cheese katsu. Set portions very generous and have unlimited refill of rice, miso soup and cabbage. Saw Kagoshima pork and many other pork and combination sets too. Chawanmushi nice and light, salted enough to stimulate appetite. Tender mushroom, umami good to start up. Little shrimp inside was nice extra. Miso soup with tiny clams had good umami. Not over salty. Just right Sauce had stronger fermented or alcohol taste which was surprisingly pleasant. Not too sweet. Stronger savory taste. Broad set of sauces given too: Tonkatsu, yuzu, horseradish mustard, mayo/tartar sauce if you order shrimp ひれかつ pork Tonkatsu crispy perfectly fried outside. Medium tender inside. Minimal flavor initially. Went very well with both brown sauces (Tonkatsu and yuzu) together and separately. Summertime Aomori cream croquette tastes like fried clam chowder / in a Tonkatsu shell! No sauce needed! Pleasant surprise for the season.

I loved it so much that I ate here twice during my vacation in Japan. There is usually a line but you can write your name on a notebook at the door and wait seated. Dishes are large and delicious. They welcome you with green tea for free. Refills of rice and salad are also free. Staff comes quickly to the table when you press the button on the table. Definitely recommend trying the sauce that comes on a teapot at the table, no idea what it is but it tastes delicious
