Great place to eat, it has that old school japan feeling.
I went to "Katsutei Kitahachi". "Kitahachi" is located 300 meters from Kawawacho Station on the Yokohama Municipal Subway and 5 minutes by car from JR Nakayama Station. The owner often delivers, so it's a good idea to make a phone call before visiting. There was a parking lot in front of the store, and it was spacious. Also, the store is always open for business, although it is always under preparation. This is said to be a manifestation of the general's way of thinking that "it's okay to not come unless you have a connection", and that reservations can be made by talking over the phone and confirming the other party. For that reason, it seems that you don't need an app or internet contact. I called and visited the store to check availability. I received a very warm welcome and was guided to the back room. I sat down, looked at the menu, and ordered "special loin cutlet set meal" and "east bowl". While I was having a lot of fun talking with the general, I was offered a “loin cutlet set meal” and a “east bowl”. Katsu is big and deep fried. It seems that domestically produced pork is purchased in blocks and cut at the store. The meat has a strong flavor and the fat is sweet and very filling. The garnish has a gentle taste, and the miso soup has a lot of pork soup (it seems that chicken is used) and the soup has a very good taste. The general said, "Please change anything other than meat." The "East bowl" is a bowl of Indian tuna and raw tuna carefully selected by the former sushi chef. After the general retired (❓️), he and his wife are running a tonkatsu restaurant, welcoming customers and working at their own pace. It's a blissful moment to visit for a hot break in the very warm atmosphere of returning home! ️
