More Comments at Google MapThis is the traditional Japanese local restaurant. As its signboard mentions, this is Tonkatsu restaurant, during lunch time they offer Trishoku main dish with rice, miso soup and tsukemono, a Japanese pickles at one price, JPY680; in addition only main dish at JPY500. Unfortunately, nowadays a restaurant of this style became difficult to find in the central of the cities. At the dinner time, you can enjoy meals with alcohol surrounding by local atmosphere. If you are interested in this kind of restaurant, a name with ‘Ton’ can be your guidance, that indicates pork :)
It’s cheap and the pork chops are juicy. The best pork chop restaurant I’ve eaten in Japan for 5 years. The restaurant is run by a curly-haired grandfather and a virtuous and gentle grandmother. If you pass by, please try it
Came in at 11:50 on a Sunday. The store opens at 11:30, but it seems that some regulars come in before the store opens, so the place is already almost full. From before noon, many people were snacking on light pickled vegetables with beer mugs in hand. From the moment it opened, it had an izakaya atmosphere. The food is a set meal for 680 yen, and the taste and volume are excellent. You can choose from various types such as pork cutlet, fillet cutlet, mixed fries, and fried oysters. The freshly fried cutlet is soft and juicy. The accompanying pork soup is also exquisite. The pork soup is full-bodied even though it uses red meat without using fat or cheating. The inside of the store is small and the toilets are Japanese style. A famous restaurant for ordinary people with a Showa era atmosphere. In Kamifukuoka, Chinese food is served at Hakuryu (unfortunately, currently closed), sushi is served at Sushicho, and pork cutlet is served at Tonzawa. The owners of both stores are elderly, but I hope they continue to operate forever.
