Kasugai, Aichi, Japan｜Katsu Zen

Smarter than your average Tonkatsu restaurant. The speciality here is shrimp Katsu, which I’ve never tried before. It’s affordable and tasty, and the service is quick and attentive. There’s even a bit of daring fine-dining style to the presentation! It’s good to see a small, non-chain restaurant so clearly excelling at what they do. Really liked it here, will come again.

Perfection. If you live or just visiting Japan, I believe it is worthwhile to visit marvelous restaurants. Super fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, wonderful service, spot on timing and perfect preparation deliver one of the very best meals that you can have in Japan. The meal flow will take you to a world of textures and flavors, one step closer to the local produce and traditional Japanese cooking techniques, perhaps closer to home. Happy Dining :)

I had a fillet cutlet & crab cream set meal, shrimp cutlet, an assortment of 3 appetizers, and an assortment of desserts. The fillet cutlet was very soft, and the crab cream croquette was creamy and delicious with lots of crab meat in it. The shrimp cutlet was not on the menu, but when I asked the staff about it, they happily responded. I had the fillet cutlet with salt, the crab cream croquette as is, and the shrimp cutlet with homemade tartar sauce, all of which were delicious and I finished them all. (lol)
