Friendly staff and one of them could speak English. English (and other languages) menu is available, with good food options. It was cool watching the food being prepared right in front of you, as it is all bar counter seating. All the dishes were cooked to perfection, with the big pieces of chicken cooked through and still juicy, the pork belly was just slightly charred for taste and very delicious. The cheese mochi with bacon was a hit with the kid. They also had beer on draft. Bring a fan if you are concerned about the heat from the grill. Surprisingly, we did not smell too much after the meal.

Small place, cosy setup. The boss is someone you don't want to mess with. Agree with previous reviews describing above boss as a tsundere 😂 Overall, food was great, well seasoned over a good charcoal fire. No frills, barely any customer service. Friendly old man by the door that helps you with your coat. Too bad I don't speak any Japanese, else I would have chanced starting a conversation with the boss behind the fire.

Amazing local izakaya place. It's really tiny and only offers counter bar seats. This is the way for people to connect, especially for fellow drinkers. Very friendly host and customers if you indicate that you are a tourist, multilingual menu available. Food is relatively cheap, but the bill will grow if drink comes after drink. Definitely an authentic try out night life. You will probably smell like a piece of grilled skewer too after the meal, but hey that's how it works.
