Went for dinner and had a shashimi platter with sake. Although they didn't speak great English, the staff were very friendly and chatted a bit about my stay. I was the only one in the restaurant at the time on a Monday. Highly recommended.

I was walking around the shopping district wanting to go to a restaurant that the locals go to, and I found a lively restaurant that looked delicious.I checked it out on Google Maps, and it had a high star rating, so I went in. It seems to be a popular restaurant and is almost fully booked, so we were lucky to get in just in time. Potato salad (you can break and mix the whole boiled egg on top), oden (clear soup stock), street food ikayaki (sweet soy sauce flavored, soft and large whole squid), Mamakari vinegar pickles (not too sour, you can taste the fish), pork belly lettuce rolls (crispy pork belly with lots of crunchy lettuce)...For alcohol, I told them my preference and had a cold local sake. Everything I ate and drank was delicious, the staff were friendly, and I had a great time. The toilets are separate for men and women and very clean.
