This a place that locals hangout. We were lucky enough to be introduced by our family. The sashimi is so fresh and tasty. The oyster was the most plump one I’ve ever had, so delicious. The wife owner introduced us to a stewed fish with tofu, I could not have enough of it. I also learned that you could order a ‘box’ of sake, which filled up the glass as well as the little red box the glass sat in. We had such a wonderful experience. I know we will stop here again when we visit Japan.

This is a restaurant where you can eat Ashiya's famous fish set meal. I arrived at the store 30 minutes before opening, but there were already 5 people waiting, and the store was full within a few minutes of opening. This time I ordered the sashimi set meal deluxe. The deluxe version has a larger amount of sashimi. The sashimi was delicious and the miso with ara was also delicious. Apparently they also have a breakfast set meal on weekdays. The counter is narrow, and if you place a set meal tray, the distance between the customers on the left and right will be tight, so you may have to be a little careful.
