During our holiday in Gifu, we stumbled upon this hidden gem of an izakaya. We decided to go for supper, and despite our initial concerns about the language barrier, the service staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They patiently communicated with us through our many gestures and questions, and not once did they show frustration. To our surprise, they treated us to homemade umeshu, which was a lovely gesture. Beyond the excellent service, this izakaya showcased the warmth and hospitality of the Japanese people. The yakisoba was delicious, the drinks were fantastic, and the service exceeded our expectations. We've had experiences where we were turned away due to language issues, but if you're a traveler seeking a comfortable, warm, and welcoming place for a light bite and a drink, we highly recommend this izakaya. What made our experience even more special was the generous boss and service team who ended our meal with a memorable picture. It truly felt like a personal touch that we'll cherish.
