More Comments at Google MapOut of all the places I tried, this one makes the BEST kaarage. The flavor is spot on, not too strong with just the slight hint of spice. The chicken is impossibly juicy and tender. The batter has perfect texture and crispiness. I haven't found better karaage in Japan. This location has a 2nd floor that you can eat at if you so desire, but if you have the time I recommend you take the 20 minute walk past Tokyo University and enjoy your karaage at the nearby shrine.
The batter is thin and crispy just because it is Nakatsu fried chicken. I made fried chicken breast, but it is soft and delicious. I thought the fried chicken was small, but it just looks like it because the clothes are thin, and it can't be compared to fried chicken with only clothes. There is an eat-in space on the second floor. There are toilets, outlets, trash cans, tissue paper, etc. The food is freshly fried, so I think it's best to eat it on the second floor. I would like to try the thigh meat challenge this time.
600 yen for an average serving of thigh meat and 600 yen for an average serving of breast tartare (tax included) is cheap! Both were delicious and I liked that they weren't seasoned with soy sauce, unlike the ones I make at home. The breast meat was also juicy! I wanted to try the brisket tartare again. To be honest, I didn't want to put air fresheners in the eat-in space. I'm also grateful that it exists.
