Inuyama, Aichi, Japan｜Ganso Taiwan curry

Came for the first time in a while and the hours had changed because of Covid. They now close at 9 pm (last order 8:50). We arrived at 8:55, but they kindly still served us. Thank you so much, Taiwan Curry! 😭💕 We won’t be late next time! Got my usual order of salad (not pictured), Original Taiwan Curry with garlic, karaage fried chicken topping and cheese (under the roux). Spicy and satisfying, and the fried chicken was great as always. Really hit the spot! Not pictured, but if you’re coming for the first time I really recommend trying the curry with some (free!) kimchi topping that’s in a container on the counter. It really completes the dish and has a surprising cooling effect despite the added heat. I also use a bit of the kombu vinegar condiment for flavor. I’ve been coming to Taiwan Curry for more than 7 years but somehow this is my first review. One of my very favorite local spots and I’m sure I’ll be back again soon!

I arrived 5 minutes late at the store that opened at 11:30. There were already several people in line at the ticket machine. It's a counter-only restaurant with just 10 seats, so I was nervous to see if I could get a seat. Fortunately, I slipped into the last seat and was safe. I ordered a large set of Taiwanese curry and fried chicken for 1,100 yen. It was my first time eating Taiwanese curry and it was really delicious. The raw jagged garlic is especially delicious. Raw garlic is a must for curry. The all-you-can-eat kimchi is also a nice addition. However, kelp vinegar is a little strange. Kiyoyuki Nagashima is small but has a great aura!
