A neighbourhood gem. Completely nondescript entrance and interior that will make you wonder if it’s even a) an actual restaurant and b) open for business, but venture in to find the most delightful bowl of katsu curry. The chef obviously takes great pride in his meat (commanding us to taste the katsu before we ate the curry), and the tenderness makes it something exquisite. Both the house specialty curry and keema curry were flavourful, with strong caramel notes. I’d recommend getting the mashed potato that comes with each curry as a separate side.

I entered the store around 11:40 on a Monday. When you enter the store, there are 5 counter seats in front of you. There are two tables for four people in the back. There was no food ticket machine, you had to order directly, and water seemed to be self-serve. This is a small shop run by a quiet but friendly owner. Domestic special loin cutlet & pork belly curry (1000 yen) The cutlet is very soft and juicy and I think it would cost 1000 yen just for this. The curry has a fruity Western flavor, with no vegetables or other ingredients in it, perhaps because they have been dissolved in the curry. Contains 2 slices of very tender stewed pork belly. (You may want to add more meat if you like it.) It also comes with mashed potatoes. (delicious) As it is said to be the No. 1 menu item, it was very delicious and the cost performance was also good. (recommendation) Shimaya special curry (900 yen) A side dish of boiled pork belly curry and spicy keema curry, topped with a sausage and salsa. (There is no pork cutlet, but you can add it for 500 yen) Keema curry is spicy, so be careful if you don't like it. (There may not be enough rice for the curry.Additional rice is 100 yen for a large serving and 200 yen for a special serving.) This did not come with mashed potatoes. Salt, soy sauce, and spicy spices are on the table. There was also Fukujinzuke. The store opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 3 p.m. There will probably be quite a line during lunch hours (after 12:00), so we recommend arriving early. It seems that they will close as soon as they are sold out, even before 3pm. The location of the store is a little difficult to find, but When you turn the corner from the yakisoba restaurant, you will see a curry sign. (I don't think there is a dedicated parking lot etc.) I think people have different tastes about curry, This restaurant is recommended for those who like pork cutlet.

You can eat fresh pork directly from the slaughterhouse. This is a carefully selected cutlet that has no odor at all. I think 1,000 yen is amazing for this quality. Of course the roux is also delicious. They also provided yogurt to drink after the meal. I think I will go again.
