Location is about 10 minutes walk from the Tokyo tower in a quiet neighbourhood. The is a Japanese curry speciality restaurant. Eaten plenty of Japanese curry elsewhere in the world but the first time in Japan. There are 6 hot levels to choose from. I took the number 4, and it is hot enough for a seasoned curry eating person from Singapore. For those without much curry experience, we suggest that you go for level 3. The Deco is rustic with a beautiful solid wood table and stool with a very heavy base. Window frame and beams to give the country feel. The menu, especially the English one is not easy to understand, but the owner is very kind to explain it patiently. Food is good and relatively inexpensive. Highly reccomended.

We went there for lunch after being rejected from fancier restaurants around. They close later than most for lunch (3pm), have an English menu and the waitress kindly explained it and answered all the questions we had. They had run out of the Tonkotsu, so we had the mixed curry (which included 1 tempura, a mini potato and a mini Tonkotsu) as well as a shrimp curry and they were both excellent and cheap. Their spiciness scale is no joke even for veterans like us (the restaurant is called “piri-piri” for a reason) so “mild” (4/6) is spicy and “hot” (5/6) is quite spicy, but that didn’t ruin the experience, it was just more than we expected from the place and scale. Coffee or tea (we had iced black coffee and iced oolong tea) is complimentary and the waitress came many times to refill our cups. Overall a great Japanese curry, service and location in a cute little restaurant at a very low price.
