If I told you that the best Curry I have ever had in my lifetime so far was served over here, would you believe me? The best Japanese curry I've ever had in my life wasn't like any other where you can either make it at home from a roux or go to a completely-upscale restaurant that will over-charge you for it. It actually came out of a lunch special with some beef in it for a lunch price that doesn't kill wallets. Thinly-sliced beef in a thick curry infused with the warmth of red wine carefully simmered with rice to pair is something so simple, yet so frequently tainted by other restaurants who try to be so careful with their flavour-texture blend. I am thoroughly impressed with how the taste is retained without the curry being so watery or thick and that the red wine can naturally warm up instead of creating a different taste. Maybe it's because beef is so friendly with red wine that it creates something so "comforting" when mixed in with the traditional curry? Whatever the mystery is, I am beyond impressed with what this restaurant has done with my perception of Japanese curry and I encourage others to give it a try. There may be other restaurants that may have already accomplished this and maybe even furthered on it. However, for those who don't typically have curry or have curry of this likeness, your eyes WILL open from this.

The curry here is made with love and attention, and you can definitely taste it. I had the tonkatau curry and the katsu itself was absolutely phenomenal! The curry does has a bit more of a tomato/acidic taste which I loved but wasn't my husband's preference. He agreed that the katsu was amazing though! The place itself is very low-key and has a cozy bar vibe. The chef was doing everything himself from taking orders, bringing drinks, cooking and cashing out. He was very efficient and you could tell this restaurant is a reflection of him. I highly recommend!

Best curry meal I have ever experienced.
