Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan｜棕櫚

Probably one of the best south Indian thali meals in all of Tsukuba if not even Ibaraki. They have a very simple menu but it's very well made. I was blow away by their service, the quality of the food and everything from their decor to their kindness. Visiting this place once every week was a given during my time in Japan. Will definitely come back here whenever I visit japan again. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is on the lookout for an authentic south Indian experience.

Visited on Saturday afternoon in June 2023. I arrived early and waited in pole position. I ordered 2 curry sets, and the drinks were lassi and iced chai. I think the lassi was a little sweet. The iced chai has a perfect balance of cinnamon aroma, milk, and black tea flavor. The curry set arrived soon. The jasmine rice has a nice aroma and is just the right consistency. It goes well with spicy curry. My wife had the keema, which was normal, and I had the Japanese pepper flavor, but the Japanese pepper was spicier and I liked it more. The extra shrimp pickle also makes the shrimp plump and irresistible. Thank you for the meal! I would like to visit again on a nice day.

I entered the store alone at around 11:45 on weekdays. I was seated right away in a timely manner. I chose chicken and keema for the curry set, both of which were delicious. I ordered an iced coffee drink, which is also delicious without wateriness. The inside of the store is a little dark, but the calm atmosphere and the borrowed scenery from the window are good. It's a nice restaurant for women's lunch.
