Ise, Mie, Japan｜Kushiichi

串一 My favorite izakaya in Ise. The food is delicious and the chefs are exceptionally skillful (sit at the counter to see what I mean). The staff is very friendly and helpful and their good humor is contagious. Kushiichi not only has great food but a great vibe. I can't wait to return. ごちそうさまでした!

Every year on New Year's Day, I come to visit Ise Shrine. Momotori oyster fries, fried skewers that you can choose, and fried banana skewers were like rich sweets. You can see why there are so many repeat customers not only because of the deliciousness of the food and drink, but also because of the warm attention, hospitality, and fun of the conversations of the family-run shop. Next time, the purpose of the trip is likely to be Mr. Kushiichi.

It's a very pleasant shop with a friendly owner. All of the skewers were delicious, and I was especially impressed by how delicious the scallops were. Lastly, I ate the tempura bowl, and the sauce was light to my liking. I wanted to come again.
