We visited for dinner on a whim and ended up with the most fantastic tempura and sashimi. They have an English menu which helped, as we have little Japanese. The chicken is their speciality but definitely get the 3 piece sashimi. Sat at the bar and got to know a local businessman too, which was nice. Altogether a brilliant authentic Japanese meal.

I had a chat with my seniors at work. I wanted to eat tempura, so I searched for ``Tempura Miyakojima'' and found that it was near the station and easy to get to. It seems that it opened 1 year and 8 months ago, and is run by a lovely couple with a calm atmosphere. In addition to the traditional tempura such as seafood and vegetables, there are a variety of unusual tempura on the handwritten menu, and it's fun to decide which one to have (^^) Among them, it was my first time to eat eggplant dengaku tempura, and it was very delicious. The eggplant was so hot that I had to swipe at it to avoid getting burnt, and the crispy coating, the melty eggplant, and the sweet dengaku miso flavor spread in my mouth, and it was delicious! They seem to be very particular about their sake, and while they had a lot of standard lineups, they also had a number of limited edition items, and the bottle labels were cute, such as ``Polar Bear'' and ``Dragonfly,'' which I had never seen before.
