This is the chain shop of Marugame Udon Shop, of which branch is available in Honolulu Hawaii. It may be hesitating to visit Marugame Udon Shop because of its self service style. But you can try as follows; i) Choose one style of service, ii) Shop keepers asks you the number of Udon, like single of double, iii) Take your favorit toppings as much as you want on your tray, iv) Pay for it, v) Put your favorit toppings including slice onion, tenpra frakes, and/or red spice, vi) Enjoy your organized Udon. It is recommended to order “Kake-Udon”, which includes no options with a simple Udon style. “Kake” means to pour the Udon soupe on the Udon. You have to pour the Udon soup by your self after the payment from the Soup machine. It may be a big surprise to find the Udon in the boul without any soups, which is a surprise even for Japanese for the first time. There is no afraid of price in this shop. A couples of topping of Tenpura and Kake-Udon cost less than 1,000 JPY.

I ordered the meat udon special lunch set and the fried side dishes were shrimp tempura and minced meat cutlet for 920 yen. The food court wasn't too crowded on weekdays either. Tables were cleaned regularly.

It's delicious on the day of kamaage udon.
