This small tempura restaurant may be a bit of a drive but it honest to goodness delicious. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Their are no English menus but its easy to ask them for their recommendation. We ordered the tendon that had prawn, chicken, eggplant, pumpkin and chikura. All for ¥500 with soup and pickles. This place is a must-try.

On my first visit, at 11:30 on a Saturday, I lined up with about 10 other customers on the outside street, and was able to enter and be seated about 50 minutes later. The inside of the restaurant has a capacity of 3 tables for 4 people and 2 tables for 2 people, so it's not that big, and there are no shared seats, so you should be prepared for some waiting time. The order is a special tempura rice bowl for ¥900, topped with maitake mushrooms for ¥50. The vegetable toppings are an exceptionally low price of ¥50, which alone shows that this is a conscientious restaurant. The bowl arrived in about 10 minutes after ordering, which was surprisingly fast. It was a very delicious tempura bowl with heaps of tempura soaked in a rich sweet and salty sauce. I would like to stop by again when I'm nearby. As more and more take-out customers come and take their lunch boxes home, the cooks and mothers must be working tirelessly, so please take care of yourself.
