GOOD

The store is located about a 5-minute walk from Oji Station, and I've been interested in it for a while because of its dark exterior. As soon as you enter the store, there are counter seats, and table seats are lined up in the back, and the table seats are crowded with people returning from work. All the staff were friendly and made me feel at home, and the atmosphere was very good. Here you can enjoy Miyazaki cuisine, with ingredients ordered from Miyazaki Prefecture, as well as fresh fish selected by the chef himself. The menu I ordered this time is like this. ・Bottled beer large bottle Sapporo Akahoshi Lager In addition to draft beer, there are bottled beers such as Black Label, Akahoshi, and Super Dry. I had my favorite Akahoshi in the bottle, so I had the Akahoshi for my first drink. ・Appetizer The appetizer was lightly pickled Chinese cabbage. It's a refreshing and pleasant appetizer. ・Today's fresh fish platter 1000 yen per person This is an assortment of sashimi that changes depending on the day, with the daily recommended menu written on a blackboard. On this day, there were three types: Kanpachi, Hokkai octopus, and bonito tataki. They have regular soy sauce and sweet Kyushu soy sauce, and this time I used Kyushu soy sauce for everything. The sashimi was made from fresh fish carefully selected by the head chef, so all of it was delicious, but the Kanpachi in particular was extremely fatty and melted in my mouth. The octopus was also very elastic and had a crunchy texture. ・Freezing barrel sour (lemon) 500 yen It was a sweet lemon sour that even people who are not good at drinking could enjoy. ・KIRISHIMA No.8 700 yen Kirishima is Miyazaki's representative shochu, and they have many different types of Kirishima, including black and red, as well as Akane, and I tried the most fashionable of them all, No. 8, mixed with soda. It was a shochu with a fruity aroma and came in a luxurious bottle similar to wine. Also, the taste was refreshing and easy to drink, with a mild shochu-like taste. ・Kokitei homemade tofu fried chicken 600 yen The tofu was very large and fried to a crispy exterior, but the tofu inside was fluffy and had a hint of sweetness from the soybeans. It was loaded with condiments such as bonito, grated daikon radish, and green onions, and was also topped with Kyushu soy sauce. Although it was voluminous, the inside was fluffy and soft, making it surprisingly light and perfect as a snack. ・Chicken Nanban 770 yen Chicken Nanban is the restaurant's most recommended menu item. Apparently this is the menu they served when they entered the festival and won the 2013 Kita-ku Festival ``Iron Chef No. 1 Tournament''. It was topped with plenty of original tartar sauce with lots of boiled eggs, which I was very grateful for as I love tartar sauce. Also, the sweet and salty sauce was delicious and went perfectly with the crispy and juicy chicken. ・Kabo Sukkiri raw 700 yen This is the store's recommended liquor, a liqueur made by a Japanese sake brewery, and it seems to be a blend of Japanese sake base and Kabosu fruit juice from Oita Prefecture. The balance between the bittersweetness of the kabosu and the refreshing citrus aroma and sweetness was exquisite. I had it with soda, but it looks delicious on the rocks as well. ・Charcoal grilled seseri meat 1200 yen Charcoal-grilled chicken, a Miyazaki specialty. I had thigh meat and seseri, and I had seseri. It was charcoal-fired, so it was fragrant, fatty, and plump. Also, the unique texture of seseri was good, and I added yuzu and pepper to it, making it the perfect snack to go with alcohol. It's an izakaya where you can enjoy Miyazaki cuisine with a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, so the shochu in particular was something I had never seen before. There is also a counter, so you can use it for a quick drink, and there are course menus, so it's a good place to have a drinking party.

The charcoal-grilled local chicken makes me feel like I've been to Miyazaki, and I don't even have to go there anymore because I can be happy here. The deep-fried tofu was delicious, fluffy and full of seasonings. The store was spacious and non-smoking, so I was able to spend my time comfortably. I'll visit you again.
