On Monday, February 19, 2024, I visited Uoyoshi Tamachi Ekimae branch for a drinking party. This is a popular restaurant famous for its kamameshi and seafood dishes. The structure of the restaurant is that there are counter seats for L hours on the first floor, and private table seats on the second floor. When I visited, the customer base was a wide range of men and women of all ages. Nostalgic J-POP and Western music were playing inside the store. When I arrived at the counter seat on the first floor, I was given a towel. I also enjoyed the friendly and courteous customer service from the staff. The two types of domestically produced bluefin tuna we tried were red meat, seared medium fatty tuna, and medium fatty tuna. The lean meat is moist and has a good taste. The seared part of the broiled medium fatty tuna is fragrant and full of flavor. The medium-fatty one seems to melt in your mouth, and the fat has a sweet taste. The shrimp and seasonal vegetable tempura platter consisted of shrimp, lotus root, eggplant, and sweet potato. The shrimp are plump and elastic, and the flesh has a sweet taste. The crispy coating and light texture are also good. Lotus root has a hearty texture, and eggplant has a fluffy flavor. The sweet potatoes were fluffy and sweet. The crab and salmon roe kamameshi uses Haenuki brand rice from Yamagata. It is perfectly cooked, chewy and has a clear taste. The taste of the soup stock is addictive, and the fragrant taste of the scorched rice is also good. The salmon roe bursts in your mouth, and the crab is plump and sweet. The refreshing taste of green shiso and the aroma of white sesame also enhance the deliciousness. It was extremely delicious.

A thriving store that is always crowded and hard to get into. Miraculously, I placed it at the back of the counter. The three types of sashimi are very fresh, and you can clearly see the careful work involved in making the fried puffer fish, crab, and red bean liver. What surprised me was how delicious the dashimaki tamagoyaki was. It's fluffy and tastes great. Alcohol was served immediately, and I was able to enjoy it without any stress. It's a busy restaurant, so we recommend making a reservation. Thank you for the meal!

This izakaya is located in the Keio Nakadori shopping district, within a 5-minute walk from both Mita Station and Tamachi Station. The restaurant has a Japanese-style atmosphere with a large lantern as its landmark, with a counter on the first floor and private table seating on the second floor. At this restaurant, you can enjoy fresh fish, kamameshi, and many types of sake. The menu I ordered this time is like this. ・The Malt's 590 yen I decided to have a beer for the first time. ・Appetizer The appetizer was a gorgeous assortment of three types: edamame and wakame seaweed, engawa yukke, and Matsumae pickles. You can feel the attention to detail in the appetizers as well. ・Nagaimo wasabi 490 yen As our first appetizer, we had Japanese yam. Shredded Japanese yam has a sticky and crunchy texture and can be eaten refreshingly with wasabi and soy sauce. It's perfect for taking a break from chopsticks. ・Duck and fried eggplant with ponzu sauce 690 yen A moist roasted duck meat appetizer with fried eggplant as a side dish. The duck was very tender and delicious, matching the sourness of the ponzu sauce. Also, the fried eggplant was soaked in soup stock and was melty. ・Chita Highball 790 yen The highballs were Kaku, Chita, Yamazaki, and Taketsuru, and I received the Chita. You can really feel the whiskey aroma, but it's easy to drink. ・Potato salad with salmon and salmon roe 890 yen A beautiful-looking potato salad topped with salmon and salmon roe. The salmon roe was large and chewy and went perfectly with the potato salad and was delicious. By the way, the potato salad was quite soft, which is my personal preference. ・Snow crab cream croquette with sea urchin sauce 690 yen I love crab cream croquettes, so I couldn't resist ordering one. There was snow crab meat inside, which was rich and creamy, and served with a fragrant sauce with the flavor of sea urchin. I'm also glad that it included macaroni. ・Assortment of three types of sashimi 1,390 yen Assorted sashimi recommended by the restaurant. The seasonal sashimi included amberjack, scallops, and tuna. The amberjack had firm flesh and was chewy but plump and delicious. Also, the scallops were large and had a nice sweetness that is unique to scallops. ・Sake one go 1290 yen Uogi has quite a variety of sake, and I ordered a local sake from Aomori. Although it is dry, it is a well-balanced sake with plenty of flavor. It comes in a bamboo container called a bamboo sake cup, and I could feel the scent of bamboo. ・Edamame (edamame) 590 yen The surface of the edamame was lightly seared and fragrant. It has a good balance of saltiness and is perfect as a snack. ・Ham cutlet with pickled vegetables 690 yen Thickly sliced ham cutlet topped with red tartar sauce. The tartar sauce had shredded shibazuke in it, and the flavor of shibazuke was delicious. Also, the meat of the ham cutlet was thick, juicy, and meaty. ・Mitsuo Yamakawa 2023 Aki The manager recommended it because it was empty today, so I went for it. Yamagata's sake is released seasonally, and this one is from fall 2023. Although it is sweet, it has a slight gasiness and is refreshing to drink, making it a good drink to have with a meal. ・Eel pot rice (small) 1,590 yen To finish off the meal, we had eel kamameshi, one of the famous kamameshi dishes. There are small and large sizes, and I chose the small size, but it was still large enough to be shared among 3 to 4 people. The guinea-flesh eel was packed with flavor, and it was perfect when eaten with rice covered in a sweet sauce. There is also a set that makes hitsumabushi, so it looks delicious even if you eat it with dashi soup. Overall, it was all delicious snacks with a little extra effort. There were a lot of people sitting at the counter on dates and the atmosphere was calm and nice.
