this is a mixed bag. the food quality is top notch for this family owned place. lots of return Japanese guests but not user frendly. no English or picture menu . we stumble up after positive review but will not be back unless with Japanese friends. the hot pot sushimi set is 5800 yen per person.

2023.05.01 (Monday) Weather: Clear skies Open 11:30 We arrived at 11:34 AM. There were 2 groups of 2 customers in the store, and then at 11:40, there was a single customer, 2 groups of 2 customers, groups of 5, etc., and a steady stream of customers came in until 12:00. However, the place was never fully booked by 12:00. I had the miso-stewed mackerel set meal for 900 yen. Well, it's just delicious. The mackerel is well-cooked, and the sashimi that comes with it in a small bowl is delicious. The other small bowls are also delicious, so I can see this being popular. There are also quite a few other daily set meals, so if you want to eat seafood for lunch in Ikebukuro, we recommend this restaurant with excellent value for money. Payment can be made by cash and credit.

Enjoy a great value fish lunch! The restaurant is located in the back (slightly dim) and difficult to find, but during lunch time, customers come in one after another and it quickly fills up. It may seem small at first glance, but there is also a tatami room in the back. When it gets crowded, you will be asked to share a seat. I often see women alone. (If you are alone, please ask for a counter seat) The stewed fish lunch comes with sashimi, so it's a good deal, but many people ask for a bowl of rice. The sea bream sesame bowl is so delicious that I keep ordering it, and my friend loves the horse mackerel sashimi set meal ^^
