Fujioka, Gunma, Japan｜奥多野

October 2023. In order to visit the store for the first time in more than a decade, I planned a trip to Gunma and made a reservation in advance for Friday at 6pm. We ordered the famous Inobuta Nabe as the main dish, as well as various snacks that we were interested in, and finished off with a large bottle of Kirin Beer, Fujioka's local sake, recommended red wine, and another 500ml of the shop's proud draft beer (medium). I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of this famous restaurant! I'm grateful to have met Mr. Okutano, and I look forward to visiting you again while enjoying the three and a half hour train journey each way!

A long-established izakaya with a retro appearance reminiscent of an old private house. The detached room is also a relaxing space with a taste. Whether it was sashimi or fried food, it was delicious. The mackerel is also excellent, and although it seems to have been slightly seasoned, it has almost no salty or sour taste. The faint sweetness of mackerel and the scent of ginger will pass through your nostrils and go perfectly with sake. It gets crowded on weekends and weekdays, so reservations are essential.

I visited Fujioka City for work, and to be honest, the streets looked lonely, but I now understand why this place is so prosperous.
