Nozawaonsen, Nagano, Japan｜Sakai

Authentic pub-style Izakaya. Light pour on the Calpis, but the food and service was great. Of course prices are not as friendly in Nozawa Onsen, but the food is quality. We ordered pretty much one of everything on the menu (table of 7)... Recommended. Usually a booking is required, but we walked in. There is no English outside, which we think gave us a chance to walk in without a booking!

Absolutely love the experience here. The lovely lady and her husband cook up every menu item as it’s ordered. Proper traditional Izakaya style. Clams in sake are my personal favourite but we have visited 5 or 6 times over 3 trips and it never disappoints!

Delicious food, friendly service and reasonably priced. This was such a great experience and all of the dishes were amazing. Would definitely return.
