Iiyama, Nagano, Japan｜Satomi (Sa-toe-me)

The food was very fresh and delicious! The lady try her best to serve us, bcoz there is no menu. And the price was middle range. Good place for dinner!

This was regarded as the best meal of the trip by many of us in our group. It's a yakiniku place but they also serve many other delicious dishes. For yakiniku, zabouton was the top choice, followed by rosu and karubi. The taste of wagyu was fantastic. The oyster tempura was amazing. Huge juicy oysters fried with light tempura batter. Anago tempura was also very good. The yakisoba is another must-order! The noodle they use is different from the ones we usually see. It's thinner and absorbs a lot of the sauce - tasty! We also had the best dashimaki tamago ever here! It's very light and fluffy and just a little runny but not under cooked. It was perfection. We had it with some mayonnaise and it was heavenly! Last but not least, the uncle chef and his assistant (maybe daughter) were really warm and down-to-earth folks. You can feel their genuineness and the true-blue Japanese service which was quite lacking at Nozawa Onsen where we were staying. It made the experience here really wonderful.

Great dinner! Great staff! Played some darts and had a few drinks after dinner, over all a great experience!
