We were surprised that the gyudon here was realllyyyy good. Randomly looking for a decent food nearby and found this gem. The butter really brought the whole flavour out - perfectly mixed with with soft-boiled egg. (Meat quality was just standard tho)

Highly recommend the beef donburi (white), mixed with soft-boiled eggs and unsalted butter, you can finish a large bowl. The beef in the curry udon is very tender, and the curry taste is very rich. You must try it when you come to Ueno, and the store staff also All very kind. P.s If you can put the finished dishes on the counter by yourself, the local people in Japan will clean them up after eating! ! ! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I wanted to eat authentic gyudon (not chained ones like yoshinoya or sukiya), so I just stopped by. I think the taste is so much better than chained gyudon restaurants and I enjoyed the interior atmosphere and 80’s and 90’s j-pop music(it somehow matched with the mood inside). The price is higher than others as it’s around ¥800, but I recommended it if you like to experience homemade style of the meal.
