This place on its own is nothing particularly special, but it delivers on anything you could ask of it. The food came out quick and was clearly made fresh. The food itself was delicious and prepared well. I see some other reviewers had some issues with the service but all we had to do was politely call over a server and they took our orders no problem.

Comfort food in Japan, you can find this cheap meal restaurant anywhere The seat here was limited, we waited about 15 minutes to have a seat, I think there was 2nd floor in this restaurant but i don’t know why they didn’t used it Tried the buta niku don which we couldn’t find in Indonesia and not disappointed

Absolutely worth trying! It’s so crazy to think how Yoshinoya isn’t very popular in America as much as it is in Japan, so you know I had to visit because I heard so many great things about this place. Upon initial impression, you can already tell that the real Yoshinoya restaurant is way nicer. Like, WAAAY nicer in terms of decor and ambiance. It’s actually a sit-down restaurant where a server takes your order and brings it out to your table which is very neat and refreshing. The menu itself is more balanced in that it provides a multitude of foods (think “combo”) rather than just protein and starch. I am told this is a typical practice in Japanese culture and I am very much a fan of this. Truthfully, the entire menu was in Japanese so we just pointed at the photos in the menu that we wanted and the server understood and put the order in. Given that the location is in Shibuya, I can imagine this is very common for them to have tourists anyway. If you have google translate on your phone you can also hover over the menu and it’ll roughly translate it for you. I chose the combo meal with beef, rice, miso soup, and a raw egg for dipping while the boyfriend ordered just about the same thing but without the egg and with a larger portion of beef. The food was just as good (if not better) than we expected and we loved that it only cost us about ~¥1000! Overall, very good restaurant and certainly worth trying out if you’re looking for a good meal for a cheap price. Now if only they could bring the real Yoshinoya to America...
