24-hour gyudon restaurants are one of the reasons why I love living in Japan. Gyudon restaurants are also always in walking distance of wherever you are, most of the time. I ordered a oomori negi tamago gyudon with raw egg, for something like 770¥. Don’t complain that it’s not a5 wagyu, but rather enjoy the fact that you can get something quick, filling, and cheap.. anytime. Thank goodness the one near my home is 24 hours too. Some do close at 11pm.
