Since it's hot, I wanted to eat soba, so I searched for a soba restaurant near Karuizawa or Miyota, and it was rated as highly as the soba restaurant I used to go to with my daughter and her husband, so I just happened to pass by. I went in with my two grandchildren and three adults. There is a parking lot in front of the store. The inside of the store is large. Reservations are not possible. It was pretty crowded around lunchtime at the end of a three-day weekend in July, but the first group had just finished eating, and after writing down their names and number of people, we were shown to a table after about 30 minutes of waiting. 1 plate of cold miso konnyaku oden, 2 pieces of Tenmori Soba, Two set meals with sashimi, tempura, nozawana, rice, and two types of monkey soba. Order. I forgot to take a photo of the menu and the most important soba noodles, but the quantity was just right for two children and three adults. As it is a popular restaurant, the soba was delicious, but I couldn't really tell the difference between the two types of soba. The miso flavor of the konnyaku oden was very good. Sarashina soba was sold out, so I would like to try it next time. postscript: When I visited again after 5 pm on the 17th during the September three-day holiday, Sarashina Soba had already closed and I was unable to order it. So, I chose Inaka Soba's "Grated Shrimp Soba" and Nihachi Soba's "Vegetable Tenmori Soba." Inaka Soba, which uses whole buckwheat noodles, is wide and uniquely delicious, while Nihachi Soba is thin and has a typical taste. The soba noodles were delicious. However, the two shrimp in the grated shrimp soba were large, but the texture was the type I don't like, so that was a bit disappointing. According to the shop owner, since the white Sarashina soba, which uses only the center of the buckwheat, is made in small quantities, there is a good chance to order it as soon as the shop opens at noon. It was called Niha Soba or Inaka Soba.
I was able to enter the store by waiting for about 20 minutes at the reception at 14:00 during the Obon period. Among the nearby soba restaurants I've been to (ground flour, Kaori, Sasakura), I like "Kikori" here. You can choose 28, Sarashina, and countryside for soba. I like the crispness of country soba, so I ordered vegetable tempura soba country soba. Also, I forgot to take a picture, but I ordered sobagaki for the first time. I thought it would be chewy, but it has a fluffy and chewy texture. It comes with soy sauce and miso sauce, but the miso sauce was my favorite.
